What are monobroads?  Monobroads is Mark's term for lettering created using traditional monoline nibs or, more specifically, the monoline version of the traditional broad-edge nib. We're talking about nibs like the Brause Ornament, Speedball, William Mitchell Script, or Manuscript Ornamental, rather than a fineliner or fountain pen.

Versatile lettering that can be learnt by everyone, monobroads offer a great insight to the principles of hand-lettering, layout, and design.  This style of lettering offers opportunities for creative flair, and this class will cover all the basics of the magic that comes from the beauty and accessibility that monobroads bring.

Learn how to navigate and use monobroad nibs, and choose and develop original script styles.
