ArtTalk
Martin will offer an overview of the life of Beatrix Potter, before focusing in on the charm, beauty, and character of the illustrations she is known for. For many, her books and drawings are synonymous with childhood - an ever present, welcome source of nostalgia in our lives.
Martin's talk will be illustrated where possible with original photographs and slides. He will also provide a list of helpful books and links to further explore on a PDF following the talk.
Demonstration
In Heather's class we will delve deeper into the watercolour techniques that Potter used, gleaning tips from her unique illustrative style. If you have a heart and imagination that continues to be inspired by the whimsy of woodland characters, the charm of clothing from a by-gone era, and the wonders of the natural world, then this class is for you.
We will work on our own, unique and sweet, character design whilst exploring Potter’s talent for drawing and her luminous painting technique. This delightful class is designed to rekindle your appreciation of Beatrix Potter and her love of nature.
