Envelope Exchange

Wouldn't it be lovely to receive something in the post that wasn't a utility bill or a flyer!  Our envelope exchanges are an opportunity to do exactly that.

Every few months we open registration for an exchange.  Sign up to share a little piece of creativity with like-minded people all over the world.

Who can join?

All Ardington students are encouraged to join; we welcome students of all abilities and disciplines. Our exchanges are designed to inspire creativity and spread a little joy -  rest assured that there will be no judgement or critique.

Once registration closes, Gemma will organise exchange groups based on the options you select when registering.  We will be keeping it small and friendly (the Ardington way) with no more than four students per group.  As you are included in the group total, this means you are preparing and posting a maximum of three envelopes and should receive the same number in return.

Following on from the success of our pilot in Spring 2024, we will look to run an envelope exchange each season; so, once every three months or so. If you wish to invite someone outside of the Ardington student body to participate in the exchange, please contact Gemma directly for details.

What should my envelope look like?

Your envelopes can be whatever you want them to be.  They can all be the same or totally unique.  They can be calligraphic, illustrative, painted, mixed media, stitched... the options are endless! If you need inspiration, have a quick search online for 'envelope exchange ideas'!

Just remember that the address must be legible and there must be space for postage. You don't want the stamps to cover your designs! You must also include a return address on the reverse, but this can be super small.

There is absolutely no requirement to include a card or note in your envelope, although we know that many of you will.

How much does it cost?

It is completely free to register. You will pay the cost of postage for sending each of your envelopes, and those costs may vary depending on where in the world you are sending them to.

What information do I need to give?

For the exchange to work, you will need to include your email address and postal address when registering.  These details will be held by Ardington, in accordance with our normal booking process, but will also be shared with the others in your exchange group.  Consent to share this information will be given during registration.

How do I register?

If we have an exchange open for registration, the details will be shown below.  If not, please check back soon.
